George Rae is a member of the Board of Directors at International Development Institute – Africa (IDIA).

Dr. Rae holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH), International Health and Epidemiology, University of Loma Linda, California (1983), Post-graduate child survival Fellowship, John Hopkins University School of Public Health (1991), Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery University of Nairobi, Kenya (1977).

Dr. Rae is a Public Health Specialist with experience in Health Systems Development and Strengthening,  Reproductive health and Family planning; human development in both normal and Humanitarian Emergency settings; HIV-STD, Malaria, TB policy and program development; Strategic Planning, Public Health and Demographic Research, primary and community based health care, health services management and program development; health care financing; public health policy and design; quality assurance systems and standards of practice and guidelines; health care policy analysis and design; urban health program development; reproductive, maternal and child health including maternal and child nutrition, and safe motherhood (EmOC and Saving Newborn Lives in Emergency Settings and Normal Development settings); development, monitoring and evaluation tools and processes; adolescent health and sexuality program development and management; health systems research development; child survival programs and integrated management of childhood illnesses (IMCI); gender research and program development; training and problem-based learning; national, district and community level program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; and facilitation of primary health care training programs.
